Kimchi 김치 (Wikipedia) - the traditional Korean dish.

Ingredients


  Sea salt
1 Nappa
4 Green onions
1 Carrot
1/2 Yellow onion
8 cloves Garlic
1/2 cup Water
1 tbsp. Rice flour
5 tbsp. Red pepper

Steps


A.
  1. Fill a big bowl with cold water
  2. Add sea salt till the water is really salty
  3. Cut the nappa into 2 pieces (lengthwise)
  4. Put the nappa into the bowl so it is fully covered by water
  5. Let it soak for 5 hours
B.
  1. Peel and slice askew the green onions and carrots
  2. Cut the yellow onion in thin slices
  3. Mash the garlic
C.
  1. Rinse off the nappa
  2. Clean and dry the bowl
  3. Put the green onions, carrots, yellow onion and & garlic into the bowl
D.
  1. Cook up the water
  2. Add the rice flour to the water and keep stiring till it is sticky
  3. Mix this mass with the vegetables
E.
  1. Mix in the red pepper. 5 tbsp. makes it pretty spicy
F.
  1. Cut the nappa halfs in half, again lengthwise
  2. Brush every single nappa leaf with the mix of the bowl
